HIR Announcements Posted on 11/20/2023
HIR Downtime:
HIR will be down for its monthly maintenance work for 30 minutes from 1:37 pm HST on Saturday, November 25, 2023.

HL7 Upgrade:
On 6/17/23 HL7 was upgraded to latest version 2.5.1 v1.5. If you are receiving rejection errors because submissions are not meeting the HL7 requirements, then please report issues to registryhelp@doh.hawaii.gov.

HIR Enrollment Period:
Reminding everyone that enrollment period for 2024 will be happening between November 15 and January 31: Facility Agreement to be submitted via the new HIR ONLINE form and Confidentiality & Security Statement via the same paper form.

Race Codes:
HIR was recently enhanced to accept additional race codes - 28 total (go to Forms tab/HIR Data Exchange Specifications Section). We are asking providers to obtain more than one race information from patients before submitting patient records to HIR. These additional race values will help improve understanding of vaccination coverage within population subgroups and identify potential disparities and pockets of need.
